During the 1980’sand 1990’s. I became a part of an alliance between the New Zealand tourist commission, Air New Zealand New Zealand guides Association, and the independent lodge owners and travel agents such as Frontiers. We put to get together a twenty-year campaign update and educate the world in the fly fishing the New Zealand had to offer. . When we started there were virtually one fishing lodge .One of the first actions we did was produce a video that told the real story of New Zealand and bring television shows to the country showing how the actual fishing differed impression that New Zealand was Alaska. Working with the travel commission we brought 75 fly tackle dealers to New Zealand to see firsthand what it was all about.
Then came a joint magazine production and the coordination of promotion by the government to support lodges throughout the country. It boomed because of the wonderful fishing and the quality guides that were produced during this 20 years. This film was produced in the early days of video and shows its age, but the fishing does not, and I hope that you enjoyed the segments. It took a lot to reproduce this I’ve been working for 10 years to bring back the production and to bring to light some of the other filming that never made it to the screen. Enjoy everybody the early days, there so many’s history, so many flies that were created, many personalities many visits to sports shows, including New Zealand fly fishing teams in the Jackson hole one fly. Of all the ventures that I was involved with two out my life. This is one of the most successful in one I’m very, very proud to be a part of the success story.
